Our Mission

The purpose of the Women's Impact Fund is to maximize women's leadership in philanthropy by engaging and educating our membership, increasing charitable contributions and strengthening communities through the impact of collective giving.
The Women's Impact Fund is a non-endowed, donor-advised fund of the Foundation For The Carolinas designed to achieve greater levels of community impact by building an inclusive membership of women interested in the power of collective grantmaking.

Charlotte Parent Magazine Honors WIF and Mothering Across Continents

Charlotte Parent and Presenting Sponsor Presbyterian Hemby Children's Hospital honored "The Women's Impact Fund & Mothering Across Continents" at the annual Moms@Work luncheon on September 10th at the Westin Charlotte. The keynote speaker was Ellyn Spragins, author of "If I'd Known Then". Guests had the opportunity to network with other working moms, enjoy a delicious meal, browse vendor tables and register for fantastic door prizes. A portion of the proceeds benefited "The Women's Impact Fund & Mothering Across Continents."

WIF Now Accepting LOI's
|

The Women's Impact Fund is no longer accepting Letters of Inquiry (LOI) for the 2008-09 Grants Cycle. The deadline was October 27, 2008. For those agencies who have submitted an LOI, a list of organizations invited to continue in the process by completing a Request for Proposal will be posted on the website on December 11, 2008.

WIF Giving Tops $1 Million in 2008

In the past five years, WIF has granted $1,394,500 to Charlotte-Mecklenburg organizations. In 2009, WIF will contribute over $400,000 to five additional grantees. See list of grantees
